Jake Sexton - Director Of Coaching email Jake Sexton is the director of coaching for the Aqua Lynx. His is in his second year as head coach for Lincoln College after spending the past four years as an assistant under Dan Hemenway. Coach Sexton returned to Lincoln after graduating in 2003 from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. Last year in Coach Sexton’s debut season as a head coach, he had 8 returning sophomores, each earning All-American status at the 2007 NJCAA national meet. Five of Sexton’s swimmers have also earned academic honors after they were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa academic fraternity in the fall of 2007. Sexton also brought in the largest recruited freshman class since 2004. Prior to coaching for Lincoln, Sexton was an athlete for The Lynx. While at Lincoln Sexton earned All-American Honors at the NJCAA national meet an impressive 12 times. Sexton also received Academic All-American Honors in 2001. Coach Sexton was a captain for the Lynx his sophomore season, and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa academic fraternity. Sexton also graduated with high honors from Lincoln. After Lincoln, Sexton continued to Lewis University, where he was selected captain both his junior and senior seasons. While at Lewis Coach Sexton held records in the 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle events. Sexton was also part of 5 record breaking relays, two of which still hold records at Lewis. Coach Sexton graduated in 2003 from Lewis University with honors. Sexton received his Bachelor’s degree in History and a double minor in Secondary Education and Political Science. Coach Sexton came back to his roots immediately after graduating Lewis, returning to Lincoln to be an assistant coach and a teacher in American Government and Sociology. Coach Sexton has had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and respected coaches and athletes in swimming, while working at the prestigious University of Southern California swimming camp. Coach Sexton is a member of the College Swim Coaches Athletic Association, American Swim Coaches Association, and United States Swimming.

» Steve O'Leary - Assistant Coach email Steve O’Leary began his first year as an assistant for Lincoln College and the Aqua Lynx Swim Club for the 2008-2009 season. Steve is an alumnus of Lincoln College (’05) and Lewis University (’08). Steve swam at both Lincoln and Lewis, where his primary disciplines were the IM’s and Breaststroke events. While at Lincoln, O’Leary earned NJCAA All-American status an impressive 6 times and was captain for the Lynx his sophomore year. Steve also is the current record holder in the 400 Individual Medley. Steve graduated with honors from Lincoln and is a member of Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. While at Lewis University, O’Leary was selected as team captain. During his tenure at Lewis University, Steve set the record in the 400 Individual Medley, which he still currently holds. Steve was also of the 2007 GLIAC All-Academic Team. Steve was a staff member for the 2008 Diabetes Training Camp; O’Leary had the opportunity to work with some of the best and respectable coaches and physicians in the country working with diabetic, diabetic triathletes and marathon runners. Steve instructed campers on the Total Immersion swimming technique and Basic Strength and Conditioning routines.
