For those that are not aware, The USA Swimming House of
Delegates, consisting of 438 coach, official and athlete members,
voted to implement new swimsuit requirements, beginning on October
1. While this earlier implementation date has created some
challenges, it was put in place to avoid interrupting our short
course season and protect the integrity of our competitions in the
summer of 2010.
Effective October 1, 2009, swimsuits shall meet the following
requirements: For male swimmers, the swimsuit shall not extend
below the knees nor above the navel. For female swimmers, the
swimsuit shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulders, nor
past the knee.
A list of Allowable suits is listed on the
USA swimming website www.usaswimming.org/USASWeb/ViewNewsArticle.aspx
Not to worry the team suits we have chosen this season are not
classified as "tech suits", and are completely fine to wear at our
upcoming meets! This information is simply for curious
families interested in possibly purchasing a higher grade suit than
the team offers.
Thank You,
Andrew Mcbride
